Something new and exciting at Ministry of Sound this July as three ‘irrepressible mixologists’ - Demi, Desyn Masiello and Omid 16B bring their acclaimed SOS party to our infamous main room on Saturday the 21st July 2007.

6 hands, endless decks, even more music and no egos. Sex On Substance (SOS) is an uber-cool DJ alliance comprised by 3 friends (Demi, Desyn & Omid16B), drawing inspiration from their rich musical heritage, and direction from their beloved Deeper Substance and Sexonwax music labels - SOS was born of a desire to create synergy.

Individually, Demi, Desyn and Omid have already excelled in the realms of electronic/house music, however, sometimes three heads beat one, and six hands better then two! With a common goal to move people, the innovative triad exist in an exciting digital era when live remixing, personal edits and inimitable shows all allow for differentiation - and this is where the dazzling SOS trailblazers shine with their icy-hot approach to DJing in the 21st century – their sound was built for our system! Twisted Audio provide an underground alternative in the Baby Box, showcasing the finest subversive talent around, and upstairs Kiss FM return to host the Lounge Bar.

On Saturday 14th July ClubClass returns to Ministry for their fourth party in the Big Smoke of 2007. Underwater Vs Ovum

Josh Wink is to play The End for the first time in four years.. Joining Underwater head Darren Emerson, two of dance music’s legends go ‘head to head’ to stand and deliver the best house and techno all night long.

Josh Wink, owner and artist of seminal Philly label Ovum Recordings since 1994 and behind influential releases including ‘Don’t Laugh’, ‘Higher State of Consciousness’, ‘Are You There’, ‘How Is Your Evening So Far?’, ‘516 Acid’ and more recently his ‘Thick Like Thieves’ release on Poker Flat - as well as recent remixes for Radio Slave and SomeOne Else (to name a few), has not played alongside Darren Emerson for Underwater at The End for four years. So get ready.

Wink plays Underwater for an Underwater versus Ovum special before his six week residency at Circo Loco at DC10 in Ibiza begins from 30th July to 3rd September.. Also forthcoming in September expect a new compilation from Wink’s label Ovum, featuring the best Ovum releases from its 13 year existence, entitled ‘Ovum:Evolve’

Pure Sessions : July’s Peach At Heaven

London’s most iconic night returns to Heaven on Friday July 27th with the full intention of having it large.

Peach, one of the biggest legends in recent clubbing history, exploded back onto the scene in May. The faithful and those newly acquainted have been far from disappointed with the list of DJs paraded in front of them for their dance floor pleasure.

So far this year we’ve seen Mark Norman, Aly & Fila, Tillman Urhmacher, John O’ Callaghan, Abel Ramos and Darren Pearce grace the decks alongside the man himself, Graham Gold. For July, they’ve upped the ante even further with a world-class line-up that should have the Peachy Ravers beside themselves.

Needing absolutely no introduction whatsoever (unless you’ve had your head under a stone for the past two decades) is one of the undisputed kings of global trance. John ‘00’ Fleming draws crowds of thousands whether he’s playing in South America, North America, Asia or in Europe. He flies in for this exclusive UK gig with some of the most deliciously twisted psy-trance and tech-trance music money can buy.

Joining him on the main stage is Thomas Bronzwaer. A production duo from Brighton, The Alibi are close friends of the Freemasons, and in keeping with the tradition of dance acts from Brighton, have named themselves after a well known Brighton bar.

After recording their version of Marvin Gaye’s 1982 classic ‘Sexual Healing’, they discovered that by pure coincidence Rockefeller (Beatfreakz) had just made a version using exactly the same vocal. So it was decided they would team up and the resulting track from these two chart topping artists has already made it to No. 1 in the Music Week Cool Cuts Chart and was riding high in the DMC Update Buzz Chart.

With support from Pete Tong, Scott Mills, Kiss FM, Galaxy, the Hed Kandi boys, Herd & Fitz through to the Hoxton Whores this track is building up to be a summer anthem. Alibi Vs Rockefeller bring this classic track bang up to date and ensure this will be a classic for decades to come, with a killer remix package.

A chunky electronic groove punctuated with Quivver’s characteristic hooks, ‘Dancing In Dark Rooms’ is a stunning return. The likes of Sasha, Sander Kleinenberg, Dave Seaman, Jimmy Van M, Digweed, Nick Warren, and others are already heavily supporting the single. In radio-land, Pete Tong was first on board, giving the track its first airing on his ‘In New Music We Trust Show’ on Radio 1, and expect many more specialist shows to follow suit following the imminent club mailout.

With a fanbase that stretches around the globe, John Graham aka Quivver, Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof, Skanna, and Tilt needs little introduction. His productions have been a staple of the world’s leading DJs for over a decade. Pete Tong and Sarah Main Pure Pacha Album 2007

Pete Tong’s Pure Pacha party is now into its 5th year. With record-breaking numbers and exceptional guests Pure Pacha retains its title as the king of elegant and debauched partying. With a beautiful ‘extended family’ of like minded people at play every Friday night and always to the soundtrack of edgy house music, eclectic soul and hip hop - Pure Pacha is where it’s at.

What better way to mark this celebration of summer than with the next instalment of the Pure Pacha album mixed by Pete Tong and Sarah Main. An eclectic offering as Pete goes straight into things with Antenna’s ‘Camino Del Sol’, a deeply hypnotic, bleep-laden track hotly followed by Pete’s cut of the summer ‘Every Heartbeat’ by Kleepup with vocals from Robyn. Producer de jour Mark Ronson also features with his smash ‘Stop Me’. Pete’s own production with Paul Harris and Jay P ‘Wonderland’ is on there - the best example of a tribute to all that is trippy and techy if ever there was one; it sits neatly alongside James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli’s One+One offering ‘No Pressure’, with its beautifully crafted strings and atmospheric break down this makes for one unforgettable mix.

Sarah starts with an altogether funkier groove. Carl Kennedy’s ‘Ride the Storm’ and Nu Frequency ‘Love Sick’ tick all the boxes. Then dipping her toe into a more 4am sound with Magik Johnson’s ‘Eastern Lights’, before returning to her disco-fuelled Studio 54 fantasy in the form of Beginerz ‘Ape Stalking’. It draws to a close with a new track from the legendary Billie Ray Martin - ‘Undisco Me’. It does exactly what it says on the tin, an acid fringed track, it makes for one epic ending.

Confirmed guests for the 2007 Pure Pacha parties include Groove Armada, F*ck Me I’m Famous with David Guetta, Alex Neri and some special Il Muretto parties amongst others. Pete is excited to announce a much-anticipated date with the ultra talented Trentmoller on September 14th.

Pure Pacha is also renowned for its imaginative artwork and poster campaigns. This year the relationship with Christian Audigier is extended as Pete and Christian have created something very special around the theme of classic playing cards, poker and tattoos! Daft Punk's Electroma

OPENS IN UK CINEMAS JULY & AUGUST 2007

Electroma is the directorial feature film debut from Guy-Manuel deHomem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, better known together as Daft Punk. Apsychedelic visual and musical odyssey, Electroma follows the journey of tworobots on their quest to become human. Two robots drive through theSouthwestern American landscape in a 1987 Ferrari 412. They arrive at asmall town in Inyo County, California where the townspeople are robotsliving a suburban existence.

They drive up to a high-tech facility where liquid latex is poured overtheir heads and meticulously shaped into human faces. Pleased with their newhuman appearance, they walk down the road to the astonishment of everyoneelse around. When the duo's faces start to melt in the sun, the localsrealise that they aren’t real humans after all, and begin to chase afterthem. They take cover in a room and reluctantly peel off the ruined masks.

Leaving the town and their dream of becoming human behind, they begin alengthy and ultimately perilous hike across the desert salt flats.

Electroma is without dialogue and plays host to a brilliant soundtrackput together by music supervisor, Steven Baker, featuring tracks from ToddRundgren (International Feel), Brian Eno (In Dark Trees), Curtis Mayfield(Billy Jack), Sebastien Tellier (Universe), Chopin, Haydn, Allegri, LindaPerhacs (If You Were My Man) and Jackson Carey Frank (Dialogue).

Electroma will be released by because.tv in selected cinemas across theUK in July & August 2007 and on DVD on 3 September 2007.

Luke Dzierzek into the mainstream

Up and coming electrohouse star Luke Dzierzek is set to be propelled into the mainsteam as his 2005 smash ‘Echo’ is to be beamed onto millions of television screens worldwide.

Following on from the chart success of Les Rhymes Digitales ‘Jacques your body’ and The Egg’s ‘Walking Away’ Luke Dzierziek steps up to the plate to provide the latest soundtrack to Citroen’s transformer-esque creation, and he does not dissappoint.

This bass heavy electrohouse monster has already recieved support from big players such as Pete Tong, James Zabiela and Sasha, insuring that ‘Echo’ is set to ignite underground and more commercial dancefloors alike.

Wanna DJ at Creamfields?

Do you want to make the transition from bedroom hopefull to big room destroyer and feel that you can cut the mustard amongst the DJing premier league?

British clubbing institution Cream are meeting the demands of the DJing generation by giving aspiring DJ’s the opportunity to step out of the confines of thier record filled bedrooms and prove thier worth at one the U.K’s biggest festivals.

Cream have joined forces with internet behemoth MySpace to launch a nationwide search to find the next superstar DJ. The chosen winner will join the likes of techno godfather Dave Clarke, French distortion duo Justice and Radio One’s Annie Mac in the MySpace presents Futurism arena.

Creamfields will be taking place on the 25th August, bank holiday weekend at Daresbury, Halton in Cheshire. Other artists performing across the weekend include Groove Armada, Erick Morillo, Carl Cox, Mark Ronson, 2manyD.Js plus many more.

Two weeks until Lovebox Weekender!

It’s time to show the love, as once again the Groove Armada boys have come up trumps, boasting a line up that is as eclectic as it is excellent. Whether it be Dub, Disco, Funk, House, Rock, Pop or Techno almost every style is catered for.

Artists performing across the weekend include Sly and the Family Stone, The B52’s, Blondie, DJ Diplo, Don Letts and Felix Da Housecat plus far too many more to mention. This years weekender will take place on the 21st to the 22nd July at Londons Victoria Park, Hackney and tickets range from £35 for a day pass and £60 for the weekend.

For those of you who are still hungry for some Lovebox action after the event, then fear not. As Andy Cato and Tom Findlay are on hand to provide the first Lovebox Weekender compilation, which is set to be released on 25th July.

Tom Findlay steps up to the plate to provide the soundtrack to disc one and as expected it takes several suprising twists and turns. The punk funk swagger of Junior Boys cosies up next to Bonde De Role’s electro soca assault, while Chemise’s ‘She cant have you’ and the previously unreleased ‘Feel the same as you’ by Groove Armada provide deeper more discofied moments. Throw some Blondie and LCD Soundystem into the mix and you have a compilation thats sure to make Lovebox attendee’s teary eyed and those who weren’t there green with envy.

CD two compiled by the trombone wielding Andy Cato takes a similarly eclectic route. Any compilation that can pair up the soulful tones of Curtis Mayfield with the samba n’ bass of DJ Marky is a sure fire winner in my book. However while both discs act as retrospectives of past guests and the duo’s influences, the inclusion of tracks such as ‘The Morton Lighthouse’ from Cato’s Packupanddance project and Erol Alkans chugging mix of Hot Chip insure that this compilation has an eye firmly set in the future and more importantly, the dancefloor.

Chemical Brothers - We Are The Night

The Chems have influenced massive swathes of modern music and particularly the UK’s dance scene, but now it’s difficult to be anything but apathetic.

Pop down the shop for a pie and you’ll practically get knocked over by a beat and bass disciple running back to their studio to work on a new loop. Simian, Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal and Groove Armada are all churning out high quality albums right across the genre and that’s before factoring in the likes of New Young Pony Club who straddle the indie/dance divide.

This being Tom and Ed Chemical (their real surnames are far too dull), WATN is not an unmitigated disaster.

The title track remarkably sounds like stars exploding and towards the end of the record are three ace tunes in a row. "Burst Generator", where synths explode into coruscating My Bloody Valentine waves of sound, is clearly this LP’s answer to "The Sunshine Underground" from the duo’s far superior Surrender album. But it remains to be seen if a band will name themselves after …"Generator".

Immediately after this "A Modern Midnight Conversation" is much better than its shocking sixth-form art project title suggests and is almost 2007’s "I Feel Love". Giorgio Moroder would surely love the bassline. Finally, "Battle Scars" is a pleasing set of aural contrasts with gentle piano samples working well with a spoken poem and crisp breakbeats.

This top trio aside, WATN is something of an embarrassment for a pair that were masters of their art. Klaxons collaboration "All Rights Reversed" takes the worst of both bands and shunts them together, "Do It Again" is a sexless and joyless Kelis parody, "The Salmon Dance" is only slightly less annoying than getting hit by one in the face and "Saturated" is the sort of timid trance-edged guff that gives deep house a bad name.
